things to do in denver

Shay took me on a tour through the windowless ventilation ducts of the Hyatt to see the sunset:

Back at the house, drinking with the cat:

we got ready for the big day:

and went over to Ann’s parents':

for a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings:

before hitting the Czech bar for karaoke:

and enjoying the first snow of the year:

in a city already really looking forward to Christmas:

I had an amazing time here and am off to Texas, of all places, in a couple of hours for my first visit to a ‘red’ state. Feeling pretty well. Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. More from Austin.

...okay- got off the phone feeling chastened for not checking out the blog as often as I should...I promise to look more. Great images-I'd say the photo-essay format you've got going is quite the thing, though I miss the invective. Anyway, see you Friday-if Texas lets you back over the border, that is.

I am honored to have made the VVH/Lysek Family thanksgiving photo shoot (from Denver no less) via the infamous nickname/brand name proxy tie-in. Whew! That made no sense to me either. Hope I was tasty! Did you, ahem, butter me up beforehand?

(I know, what a cornball!)

Glad to hear things are going well and that you're headed south for a while. Please say hello to sun for me and take lots of picture in Austin. I've never seen what it looks like there.

Very lovely pictures miku and i must say the new karaoke shirt is dazzling. But whip out that laptop sometime and make the literary magic happen! Missing the verbiage.

More importantly, it's great to hear you're doing well and enjoying the trip!

Gonzo, James and I are missing you already. Think I will need a week of recovery from our time together. Rawk on! Ann

great pics! thanks for the email shot of you and ann and james - it was much appreciated, although i couldn't figure out how to reply to it, although i guess that's what i'm doing now.

i agree with your other readers - nice shots, but don't skimp on the invective/verbiage!

We miss you in NYC. That is all.

PS- the word verification on your message board posing section was "hymen". Seriously. Are these words chosen at random?

Ha! I was just about to post the same warning!
But My Way isn't part of your usual repertoire, I think, mike?

mike i just read this story and thought i should warn you:

A Malaysian man died after being stabbed during a row that erupted after he was accused of hogging the microphone at a karaoke venue, state media reports.

Police in Sandakan on Borneo island said that 23-year-old Abdul Sani Doli was believed to have angered other patrons by singing one tune after another, and refusing to hand over the microphone.

No need to worry about being stabbed over Karaoke, Mike never hogs the microphone and always sings on key....LOL.

Waiting for the Austin picts. Ann

my verification is "exomen" - new gang of superheroes perhaps?
